We had quite a few this past weekend and it has taken me awhile to get them up. I am making one post fro them all. First up is Sara and Eric at Skytop in PA. Sara Natoli and Callie photographed this one. It was a intimate wedding and the girls said very fun. The BW below is by Callie. Sara looked great!

The girls did great work and congratulations to the happy couple!

Next we have pics from the wedding Kate and I shot on Saturday. Debi and Chris were married at the First Presbyterian Church of Newton with reception at Crystal Springs in Vernon. The portrait was taken at Debi's parents house on Linwood Ave in Newton.
The First Presbyterian Church is gorgeous inside.

The photo below Katie took before the cocktail hour. We were outside taking pic with the bride and gr0om in the cool rain and captured some real nice photos.
We wish the newlyweds many years of happiness.

Next we have Lauren and Greg who were married at The Stroudsmoor in PA. These two had a gorgeous wedding and a real party going on. The Ridgecrest at Stroudsmoor is pretty awesome, there are great photos to take everywhere.

I happen to know the bald headed gentleman with his back to the camera in this photo. Even if Dennis didn't tell me I would have guessed that Donnie Dippel was rapping Sir-Mix-Alot's "Baby got Back". He did it every night at my old local bar and did it at his wedding I shot a couple years ago. As you can see it is a crowd favorite!

The last wedding I am going to put up was Nancy and Laird's. Getting married at Lake Mohawk Country Club is always great and these two had a sweet wedding. Dennis captured this great pic when the couple got to see each other for the first time.

Kenia & Peter

Kenia & Peter were married last Friday at Flanders Valley by Dennis and Callie. Kenia was a stunning bride as you can see. She definetly felt at ease in front of the camera!

Dennis said the early evening ceremony allowed for the perfect light which stayed for the formals and bride and groom photos after.

Ashley & Darrell

This Saturday Kate and I photographed the wedding of Ashley Smith and Darrell Caton, Jr. They had a large bridal party that had a total blast and really beautiful locations to take photos. The photo below is of the bride holding her friends baby. I captured it quickly as Ashley's sister was fixing her dress at Ashley's brothers house. The house had incredible light coming in through the windows.

More of the incredible light. Kate and told her she was one of the calmest brides we have ever seen. She was zen-like!

Kate captured this awesome image as Ashley and Darrell waded into Lake Marcia at High Point State Park. I looked at the water and thought, I might as well ask, and they said heck ya!

The last photo I am going to share was taken at the highest point in New Jersey. The High Point Monument, which was behind me in this photo, is under construction so there were fences and trailers that made photos a little busy. But the horizon was gorgeous!

After that everyone headed to the Best Western at Hunt's Landing and partied all night. Kate and I would like to say congratulations, you two were really sweet and fun to work with. Have fun in Hawaii!

Jill and Joe Engagement

Last night I had the pleasure of photographing Jill and Joe's engagement session. We did some pics around the studio put decided to take a short drive to a local park. The light was incredible and these two definetly made it easy. They were so into each other that I felt like I was imposing! They had fun I had fun and the photos came out awesome. IN the picture below Joe placed a blade of grass between his thumbs and blew hard to make a sound that sounded like a duck call. Jill was so proud!

The photos below are two of my favorites. The light was really incredible!

I had alot of fun, it is easy when you have a couple who not only are comfortable having their picture taken, but are head over heels for each other.

Jenny & Chris

Jenny & Chris wre married this past weekend at the Lafayette House. The couple did all their photos beforehand at Jenny's parents house in Montague. The Corvette was Jennys dad's car and she went to the wedding in it. Dennis worked the gorgeous car into some pics.

Dennis himself was married at the Lafayette House in Lafayette so he knows where and how to take photos there. Although located in a small area this spot below offers some great pics. You don't need alot of places to take great photos, just great subjects and a great eye behind the camera!

This black and white was taken by Sara during the reception. We pride ourselves at D Becker Photo on using room lights to add dimension to our reception photos but here Sara took it upon herself to try something different. Switching off her room lights and shooting available light worked out for a real sweet photo!

Suzanne & Marc

Dennis and Callie photographed the wedding of Suzanne Edwards and Marc Hughes this weekend. They were married at St. Joseph's Church in Bogota NJ and then headed to James Braddock Park in North Bergen. The two photos below were taken at the park before everyone headed to the Chart House in Weehawken.Everyone who owns a camera in the tri-state area has a photo of the skyline of Manhattan. The view never gets old. The occasions that D Becker Photo gets to shoot a wedding overlooking the skyline are always a blast. Here, Suzanne and Marc get a few moments without anyone else around, besides Dennis and Callie, before heading in for introductions and the start of the reception.
D Becker Photo hopes the newlyweds enjoyed their day and can not wait to share the rest of the photos when their website is up.

Bernadette & Michael

This weekend Dee and myself photographed the wedding of Bernadette Mollica and Michael DeVeux at Catlin Gardens in Slate Hill NY. The wedding was alot of fun and the grounds at Catlin Gardens were very picturesque. The girls got ready in this tiny room, it was packed full of people, clothes, bags, flowers, etc. Below is a pic of the flower girl getting her bow tied by Bernadette's mom Colleen. An open door provided the light.There is a tiny phonebooth that is not hooked up near the end of the property. It looks like a phonebooth from England and the bride and grrom joked it would probably be the closest to England they will get.
Bernadette dance with her father Thomas to a classic Crosby Stills and Nash song. There were quite a few people wiping away tears as they danced like they were the only two in the room.

Carrie & Michael

On Sunday at Crystal Springs, Carrie and Michael survived what seemed like hurricane force winds during their ceremony of marriage. As you can see in the photo below Carrie was lucky to have her veil tightly placed in her hair or it probably would have flown off!

It is almost mandatory to take the bride and groom out for a sunset photo at Crystal Springs. Being on top of that huge hill really allows for some dreamy lighting! I like the little dip! This black and white by Callie is just awesome. Composition doesn't get much better than this and the light couldn't possibly be more perfect. This is a great example of how awesome it is having two photographers at your wedding. Two views, two styles, too many great photos!Carrie & Michael's album is going to look awesome!

Congratulations to the happy couple, despite the wind, you had one awesome wedding day!

Christine & Duane

On Saturday Dennis photographed Christine & Duane's wedding at Perona Farms. Perona was probably a bit warmer than where Duane popped the question to Christine. They were on a glacier in Alaska when he asked her to marry him. That is pretty cool! The first photo is a very classic portrait of Christine.

Dennis said these two were joking around constantly on their day.

Dennis couldn't resist taking a couple of photos by Kirk Avondoglio's old Model T in front of the Perona barn. Kirk is the Executive Chef at Perona Farms in Andover. Usually we do these pics with the limo but this was a nice change of pace.

Congratulations to the newlyweds and we wish them many years of happiness.

Recent Engagement Sessions

Here are some photos from recent engagement sessions by Dennis and I. Engagement sessions are alot of fun and the first pic here is from my session with Kim & Joe. Joe was a total comedian making faces and laughing. They were really sweet together and I loved this pic which I converted to BW. It was still really cold out but they braved the tempatures for me and I think it paid off.

Dennis did this classic pic of Merry and Curt this weekend when the weather was a heck of a lot warmer. Merry and Curt are getting married in July at Lake Mohawk Country Club in Sparta which is one of our favorite places to work. The beach, the boardwalk, the lake... there are going to be some great photos taken on that day.
We love doing these mini photo shoots and enjoy giving the clients a mini preview of what is to come on their wedding day!

Julia & Stephen

Dennis photographed an intimate wedding this Friday in Hampton. Julia looked stunning in her gown. Stephen is quite a lucky man! Dennis did photos by the Paulinskill River which over the weekend rose steadily.

The Balesville Church is really a beautiful little church.The happy couple in one of Dennis's favorite pics.

Jennifer & Edgar's Wedding

Dennis and Sara headed all the way down to Long Beach Island this Saturday for Jennifer & Edgar's wedding. Wedding photos on the beach are always fun and the bride and groom were definetly a couple who enjoyed every minute.
Brant Beach Yacht Club was the site for a rockin' reception. Everybody loved the jam session by Edgar and his buddies! Jennifer truly enjoyed herself and looked stunning in her wedding dress! Edgar's shoes were also a nice touch.
Back to the reception, the groom sure knows how to rock a room. Sure he played songs for his bride but doing one for his mother-in-law, awesome!

Dennis and Sara had a great time and everyone keep your eyes peeled for the email from PICTAGE letting you know Jennifer and Edgar's complete wedding pictures are available. Should take about a week.

Skylands Juried Show

I entered the Sussex Arts and Heritage Council 20th Annual Skylands Juried Art Show last month and had two photo selected. It was my first juried show and was excited to have two selected out of the three I entered.

This one titled "Bull" did not get picked. I took on th eway home from an appointment with a bride. I pass this bull and field everyday and have waited for him to be high enough on the horizon to get this pic.

This one is titled "Buoy" and was selected. I took it from the causeway on Culver's Lake. There was a thick fog and I was able to get this shot relatively easy. When the weather is bad the photos can be great.

The final photo titled " Farmer" was taken at Genesis Farm. The farmer's name is Judy and in hindsight I should have titled it "Judy". This one was also selected and is one of my favorite pictures I have ever taken. The Genesis Farm website has a gallery of photos I have taken there. I will set a link on the bottom of this post.

There will be a new post probably Monday, Dennis and Sara are going to Long Beach Island for a wedding Saturday.

Dennis and Sara photographed Lorna and BJ's wedding at The Manor in West Orange this past Saturday. Lorna was a gorgeous bride with an amazing dress. Dennis did a great job with keeping this photo simple. A great enviormental portrait!There are plenty of photos of BJ having a blast that will be posted on their PICTAGE site in about a week. Here is a photo of his parents, I am guessing they are in love!

So with the help of some friends (Brooke and Eric) we found out how easy it is to Blog. In minutes we were up and running. Spread the word and check in all the time. Weddings will be kicking in soon and we will display our favorite images from some. Brides and grooms will be able to see pics while on their honeymoon and guests who can't wait for custom website from the wedding to be up will also get a preview.
